Daisy Billowes

Daisy Billowes s'inspire du destin souvent contraint des femmes dans les récits mythologiques. Circe, Pasiphaé, Pénélope, sont citées dans les titres des œuvres qui les abordent à travers une technique mêlant collage d’images imprimées, peinture et fusain. Les effets plastiques sont très importants dans sa pratique, l'artiste cherche à mettre en valeur les qualités esthétiques des matériaux en s’inscrivant dans une réflexion sur notre manière de regarder les œuvres à l’ère post internet, en mélangeant justement matériaux classiques, écritures et impressions digitales. Le style qui en résulte est ludique et original, à la fois critique et drôle.

Biographie

Daisy Billowes is a London based artist, raised in Athens. She studied at Newcastle University (2015) and the Royal College of Art, London (2017).
